International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD)

Celebrate the contributions people with disability make to communities.

In 1992, the UN declared 3 December as International Day of Disabled Persons. In 1997 the event was renamed International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

IDPwD is unique among community awareness days, as it unites disability organisations, businesses, federal, state and local governments and the community.

Derby has celebrated IDPwD with a major function for four years running now

In 2024 we will be celebrating IDPwD on Tuesday the 3rd December at Derby Airport.
